The 2024 IMO (International Mathematics Olympiad) is happening now!. It takes place in Bath, England, between July 12th and 18th. Each country selects a team of six representatives, after a rigorous training and selection process that can take years. Check this video:

ICAS continues to lead the way in international academic competitions. Over 10 million school students from 16,000 schools across 41 countries have been inspired, celebrated and challenged since the annual event began over 40 years ago. ICAS recognises academic performance in a way others celebrate achievements in sport or the arts. Students can sit up to six literacy and STEM papers including English, Mathematics, Science, Digital Technologies, Writing and Spelling Bee. The questions are engaging and fun and have been designed by psychometricians, education measurement experts and experienced teachers to push students to their academic limits, as well as test higher-order thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Many scholarship examinations contain an essay component, in which the student has to write 1-2 essays quickly. This section is usually the most challenging and stressful, and examiners often use it to choose the ideal candidate for schools. However, with the right strategies in mind, one can quickly master this component and receive a significant advantage over other students. In scholarships, the two predominant writing formats are a creative piece, a fictional story designed to hook readers, and a persuasive one, a piece to convince readers to accept a particular idea or opinion that you’re putting forward. These essays can be written in 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the type of exam that you are undertaking.

Research Competition : The competition provides school-aged students with the opportunity to understand what it means to conduct mathematical and statistical research. It is free to enter and there are cash prizes up for grabs! Entering the competition is simple and does not require prior registration. To enter, students simply submit a project before the deadline. Project submissions are open now and will close 31 July 2024. Micro Mathematicians : Micro Mathematicians is an enrichment program aimed at advanced students in years 5 to 10 who have an interest in mathematics beyond the classroom. The program offers a range of free virtual and in-person workshops throughout the year. Students will take part in a variety of activities across a range of topics designed to promote mathematical investigation at a high level. We have new workshops available in July, applications are being accepted until 16 June 2024.

Bebras is a fun and engaging computational thinking challenge for students in Years 3 to 12. It is an international challenge that involves over 2.9 million students from 60 countries. Coding skills are not required to complete the Bebras Challenge. The challenge is open twice a year for three weeks and each round has different questions. Students can participate individually or in teams of up to four. Lithuanian for beaver, Bebras was the name chosen by the founder of the challenge, Professor Valentina Dagiene from the University of Vilnius, in honour of the animal’s collaborative nature and strong work ethic. The Challenge is coordinated by the International Bebras Committee which meets annually to assess potential questions and share resources. The UK Mathematical Challenge is an annual competition aimed at stimulating mathematical problem-solving among students in the United Kingdom.
